The Lord Mayor officially opened last years St Patrick's festival by transforming Dublin's City Hall into a stunning light installation - Dubliners by Light. The latest in lighting and visual projection technology was used to project previous recipients of the Freedom of the City of Dublin onto City Hall. This distinguished group includes U2, Eamon deValera, John F Kennedy, Bob Geldof and Charles Stewart Parnell. These projections illuminated City Hall for the duration of the Festival to celebrate St Patrick's Day and the unique contributions that those awarded the Freedom of the City had made to Irish culture, at home and abroad.
